Director Cyril L. Ticao, Regional Director of DOLE 6 said that despite its tourism growth and developing economy with the influx of businesses and retail trades, the Province of Antique still faces high unemployment rate. He also said that this could be attributed to the natural calamities that beset the province in the previous years.
Through the employment opportunities provided by the Department’s TUPAD program, Ticao is positive that the poverty incidence among the Antiqueños will be lessened.
Ticao also shared that those beneficiaries who started working last November 13 until the first week of December will each receive their salaries in the amount of P5,475.00 before Christmas, just in time for their needs during the holidays.
