“As a spin-off, this is a great opening,” said David A. Gross of Franchise Entertainment Research.

The second most watched movie in the United States and Canada was Universal’s “Pasaje al Paraiso” with $16.3 million.
This story stars Julia Roberts and George Clooney. The famous actors play a divorced and feuding couple who fly to Hawaii to try to sabotage their daughter’s wedding.
Then comes the horror movie Sonrie from Paramount. In fourth place came the movie Universal Halloween: The Final Night, starring Jimmy Lee Curtis.
Finally, Sony’s “Lilo my Crocodile Friend”, a family musical comedy, took fifth place.
