PRES. Rodrigo Duterte will lead the distribution of certificates of land ownership award (CLOA) to agrarian reform beneficiaries in Western Visayas at Cabatuan Multi-Purpose Gym, Iloilo on June 20, 2018.
Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR-6) assistant regional director Gideon Umadjay Jr. confirmed the President’s visit which is part of the 30th anniversary of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP.)
“No less than the President of the Republic will grace our CLOA distribution in celebration of our 30th CARP anniversary,” Umadjay said.
A total of 3,772 land titles covering 2,694 hectares (has.) will be given to 2,314 farmers.
Negros Occidental North has the largest share with 1,775 emancipation patents and CLOA for 900 farmers while Negros Occidental South has 938 titles covering 483 has. for 556 beneficiaries.
Capiz will receive 440 patents for 367 farmers while Iloilo Province has 301 titles worth for 221 farmers.
Guimaras got 186 titles for 158 farmers. Antique will receive 76 CLOAs for 63 agrarian reform beneficiaries.
Aklan has 56 CLOAs for 49 beneficiaries.
Duterte will also lead the turnover of farm-to-market road projects in five Iloilo towns.
Umadjay said the projects were implemented in coordination with the provincial government.
The projects are:
*San Rafael – concreting of Brgy. San Andres to Brgy. San Florentino FMR with bridge worth P56.26 million
*Bingawan – concreting of junction Brgy. Agba-o – Tapacon – Inamyungan and Guinhulacan FMR (P52.52 million)
*Barotac Viejo – concreting of Sitio Nagpana to Sitio Proper Libata to Brgy. San Geronimo FMR (P34.12 million)
*Dumangas – concreting of Brgy. Pulao to Sitio Burol, Brgy. Sulangan FMR (P26 million)
*Lambunao – concreting of a junction of the national road to Agsirab to Bagongbong to Barangay Caguisanan FMR (P58 million).
“Fifty percent of the equity requirement of the FMR is being shouldered by the provincial government and the municipal government where the project is located,” Umadjay said.
Bridge projects at Brgy. Bingauan, Badiangan; Brgy. Nabitasan, Pototan; and Brgy. Calumbuyan, New Lucena will also be turned over to the host towns.
President Duterete is also expected to deliver a speech and administer the mass oath-taking of newly-appointed DAR-6 personnel.
DAR Secretary John Castriciones and Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go will accompany Mr. Duterte.
Meanwhile, Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. said Duterte will proceed to the Iloilo Convention Center after the DAR event for the national conference of the Philippine Councilors League.
The conference will include the 2018 2nd Quarterly National Executive Officers, National Board Meeting and 5th Series of Continuing Local Legislative Education Program with the theme “Education and Technology: The Power Key to Advanced Skills in Local Legislation and Transformation of Character and Efficiency in Public Service.”
“Ang pag-intindi ko the President will deliver a message,” Defensor said.
Around 3,000 councilors from all cities and municipalities are expected to attend the event.
