The Daily Guardian: Framework Introduces Affordable Barebones Laptops
In a bid to revolutionize the laptop industry, Framework has launched a new line of modular and upgradable laptops at a more affordable price point. The company has also announced a significant price drop for its B-stock Factory Seconds systems.
One of the standout offerings from Framework is the Framework Laptop 13 barebones configuration, priced at under $500 for the first time. This 13-inch machine comes equipped with an 11th-gen Intel Core i7 processor featuring Iris Xe graphics.
It is important to note that Framework’s barebones laptops do not come with RAM, storage, Wi-Fi connectivity, power adaptor, or an operating system. However, tinkerers can easily purchase additional components from the Framework Marketplace to customize their laptops according to their needs.
For those looking to upgrade their laptops with more affordable options, Framework is also selling refurbished DDR4 memory at half the price of new. Additionally, B-stock systems may have minor cosmetic issues on the original display, while A-stock systems come with a matte display but are priced higher.
Currently, Framework’s Factory Seconds laptops are available in the US, Canada, and Australia. With its innovative approach to modular and upgradable laptops, Framework is set to change the game in the laptop industry and provide users with more flexibility and affordability in their computing devices.
