Air New Zealand Introduces 787 “JabSeat”: A Business Class Vaccination Center
Air New Zealand will convert a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner into a special vaccination clinic to encourage Auckland residents to get vaccinated in a celebration called “Super Saturday”.
The event will be part of Kiwi Airline’s campaign to require international passengers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 under the slogan “No jab, no fly”. New Zealand hopes to open its borders by 2022.
Auckland residents will be able to board JabSeat aircraft, where they will receive the vaccine and enjoy on-board service and Air New Zealand service. Additionally, passengers will be able to visit the hangar, tour the 787’s business premiere cabins, enjoy free snacks and get a special boarding pass to remember the moment.
“Vaccines are vital to protecting our communities and reopening New Zealand. We are preparing to reunite families and bring Kiwis to their vacation spots, but New Zealand needs to get vaccinated first. The more you can participate in Super Saturday, the better,” said Captain David Morgan, Air New Zealand’s director of safety and operational integrity.
He said, “We know the residents of Auckland were having a tough time and we hope that the idea of boarding an international plane for the first time in a long time will wake up some spirits, as well as encourage people to protect themselves.” will do.”
“As New Zealand’s national airline, we support vaccines in a big way. This latest push follows our mandate that all essential Air New Zealand employees be vaccinated and we recently announced a “no jab, no fly” policy for those on our international flights.
Passengers will board the main entrance of the Business Premier section, where they will receive their first dose of vaccine pfizer, in the hand chosen by the customer. After getting vaccinated, you will go to the main economy class cabin where snack and beverage service will start.
While passengers wait to disembark after a brief observation, they will be able to enjoy the entertainment service on board.
The use of face masks will be required on Saturday’s flight and distancing measures will also be maintained, which will guarantee greater health protection for the customer and crew.
