Hours before a meeting between US President Joe Biden and his Afghan counterpart Ashraf Ghani, US forces on Friday carried out two drone strikes on Taliban positions in northern Afghanistan, Defense Department sources confirmed to Fox News.
The attacks took place in the provinces of Baghlan and Kunduz, and according to the same sources, killed an unknown number of rebels.

With, among them the commanders Qari Jawad Hashmi, Hydari and Mawlawi Qadir.
These attacks come at a critical time for the country, months after the total withdrawal of the United States and the insurgents launching an offensive that has seized several cities in the country’s north in recent days.
In this sense, the Afghan army in the past hours has confirmed that it has recovered the populations of Andkhoi and Khan Chahar Bagh in Faryab Province, as well as the populations of Khinzan and Doshi in Baglan; and Ahmed Aba, Mirzaka and Syed Karam in Pakhtia.
However, according to sources in the Afghan network Tolo News, three other districts, Gujgah and Noor in Baghlan and Dolina in Gour province, fell into the hands of the Taliban on Thursday and Friday.
At the center of this new wave of fighting are the provinces of Baglan, Kunduz, Faryab and Sar-i-Pul, where hundreds of locals have taken up arms to fight alongside Afghan forces.
