Tiger Woods Withdraws from Genesis Invitational Due to Influenza Symptoms
Golf legend Tiger Woods recently had to withdraw from the Genesis Invitational golf tournament due to symptoms of influenza. The PGA Tour reported that Woods was taken off the course by a rules official and treated for dehydration and dizziness. Earlier in the day, Woods was also experiencing back spasms.
On Feb. 17, Woods confirmed his withdrawal from the tournament after being officially diagnosed with the flu. The golfer expressed disappointment at not being able to compete and also thanked fans and sponsors for their continued support.
This tournament marked Woods’ first official PGA tour appearance since his withdrawal from the 2023 Masters last April. In December 2023, Woods returned to competition and placed 18th at the Hero World Challenge.
Over the past few years, Tiger Woods has faced numerous injuries, including a rollover car crash in February 2021 which resulted in multiple fractures in his leg bones. Since 2019, Woods has participated in nine official golf events, missing the cut twice and withdrawing three times.
Despite these setbacks, fans remain hopeful for Woods’ recovery and eventual return to the golf course. Stay tuned for updates on Tiger Woods’ health and future tournament appearances.
