“The BNC Colombo Americano Center is promoting this event, because we are not only an English language learning institution, but also promoting learning through culture. Our goal as a non-profit organization is to promote cultural understanding through the teaching of the English language. “We decided to bring in a jazz band because it’s one of the most representative genres in the USA, which is gaining traction in our city,” said Sebastian Jaramillo, Colombo Americano’s Cultural and Office Coordinator.
“We seek to create cultural spaces to contribute to the growth of Quindío and learn more about American culture, as well as to create spaces of cultural diversity to enrich our city’s offering. The added value is that it is completely free we will have two very high quality bands and apart from the concert we will do workshops with every member of the Alabama bandwhere they will teach the different techniques used in jazz and how to improve certain skills when interpreting each of the instruments used in this genre,” Jaramillo said.
Similarly, on June 15 at 9 am in the facilities of the Institute of Fine Arts, a music workshop will be held with the Alabama Band, in which each of its members will share the different techniques used in jazz, such as improving skills when translating each of the instruments used in this genre.
