A musical with Britney Spears’ discography will be shown on Broadway | US newspaper
New York, (EFE). The producers of the musical “Once Upon a One More Time”, based on the discography of singer Britney Spears, announced that it will be shown next year on Broadway, with performances for the public from June 22.
Hip-hop choreographers Keone & Mari Madrid brought to the stage a script by Jon Hartmere, which gave a feminist twist to classic fairy tales like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty or The Little Mermaid: what would happen if a mischievous fairy was a godmother who would introduce a kind of feminist mystery into the her characters?
The producers made it clear that Spears’ songs such as “Oops I Did It Again”, “Toxic”, “Lucky” or “Circus” would appear on the scene, although she did not participate in this project.
The work is not a world premiere, as it was previously shown in Washington in one of the productions of the Shakespeare Theater Company, where it was met with all kinds of criticism, including some that criticized the inaccuracy of the story, as Variety.com states today..
For now, only the names of the art team have been revealed, but not the actors who will give life to the characters of these “Revisited” fairy tales.
So far, the 41-year-old artist remains silent about this remix of her songs while dousing her Instagram appearances with increasingly daring poses, barely covering her body.
