WhatsApp launches Companion Mode that allows you to link your account to a secondary cell phone – Teach Me Science
With over 2 billion users, WhatsApp is the most popular social network in the world and is constantly adding features that improve user experience. We have more news on this messaging app and this is definitely something many have been waiting for: WhatsApp is launching a “companion mode” that allows you to link your account to other secondary mobile devices.
It was recently revealed that WhatsApp is working on a certain version of Companion Mode to allow people to link their existing WhatsApp account to an Android tablet. The good news now is that this new product will also be released for mobile phones. There’s no official release date yet, but it’s already available for some beta testers!
How do I know if I already have the job?
It’s enough to unlock your secondary device, download the app, and enter as if you were going to enter your phone number, but instead of entering the number, you’ll scan a QR code in the same way as in WhatsApp on the web. As you can see in the WABetaInfo screenshot below, it’s very easy to see if you can already link your existing WhatsApp account to a secondary mobile phone: just look at the options on the registration screen to see if there are any. one choice Device Connection.
If this option appears, it means that you can use your WhatsApp account on a secondary cell phone without any problem. And if not, you will have to wait for a future update or switch to the beta version of WhatsApp which we will explain at the end.
According to WABetaInfo, after you link your WhatsApp account to a new mobile phone, your chat history will be synced across all linked devices. Also, it can link up to 4 devices simultaneously, so you can also link more than 2 mobile phones to your WhatsApp account.
It should be noted that the companion mode between mobile phones is currently only available for some beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android in the Play Store. If you still don’t see it as a beta tester, the feature will be rolling out to more users in the coming weeks.
