Air New Zealand is expected to carry 170,000 passengers this Christmas week
In what will be the airline’s busiest week since the Kovid-19 breakdown in March, Air New Zealand is estimated to carry 170,000 passengers on 2,859 flights.
It should be remembered that the above number refers to national and regional flights as the airline has not been flying internationally since March due to the closure of borders.
The day with the best occupancy level is expected to be on Christmas Eve. It was also revealed that the most sought-after route by residents is Auckland – Christchurch.
Air New Zealand Group General Manager Chloe Surridge expressed her excitement by saying that it is fantastic to have so many people traveling to meet their loved ones and enjoy a well-rested after a very challenging year for.
Additionally, Surridge stated, “Operationally, it takes a lot of work to get our passengers to their vacation destinations on busy days. From flight planners to airport crew, pilots and cabin crew, all our teams are working hard to connect passengers with friends and family this holiday season. “
He also said that since airports are the busiest during these festivals, it is recommended that passengers arrive at the terminal with greater anticipation.
