Google just uploaded one of its most useful (and little-known) features.
If you are one of those who have used the built-in Google timer or stopwatch, I’m afraid you won’t be happy with this decision.
For years, Google has been offering Browser mini tools and functions Which are performed by specific searches. For example: when you search for “calculator”, the una tool will appear at the top and operations can be performed quickly. Something similar happens with “compiler” or “time” queries, among the many other queries that can be found.
but for some reason, Google has decided to remove two such tools from the browser. Which is interesting, because according to what they say in SERoundTableBoth functions have been used frequently by a large number of users.
These tools Time and stopwatchtwo functions that were first introduced in the browser in 2013, but are now gone, and no longer appear when the corresponding query is run.
Goodbye Google timer
Those who have not used this function before, should know that thanks to it, it was possible to create a file timer Through a query to the browser, without having to access a web page. Now, instead, when you perform the query “set timer for X minutes”, or simply “timer”, only relevant search results are shown, including YouTube videos.
It is not clear why it was decided to remove both this tool and the stopwatch tool. However, this only affects Google search through the browser: if we ask Google to set the timer through a file Google Assistant or from search widget From Android, it will be possible to use this tool as usual.
It is also not excluded that Google will make improvements in both facilities, and that sooner or later they may return to the search engine. In any case, we will remain vigilant for any relevant changes.
