Romanian President Klaus Iohannis called Tuesday for the “integration” of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia into the European Union, after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky formally called for his country’s immediate entry into the European Union.
“Romania unreservedly supports the integration of Ukraine, as well as the Republic of Moldova and Georgia, into the European Union,”Johannes wrote on his Twitter account. “The place of these EU partners is within the EU, and Romania will do everything in its power to make this a reality,”Iohannis said.
Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan orescu supported the president’s position: “the European Union is not complete without Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Georgia; they all deserve full membership,” orescu wrote on Twitter.
