The province participated in the UNESCO Science and Technology Laboratory in Mexico

The authorities of the Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of Production, Science and Technology participated in the final presentation of the first trial in Mexico of the UNESCO Latin American Public Policy Laboratory in Science and Technology.

During the activity, programs were known that worked for nearly four months with the governments of Jalisco and Yucatan. Also with advanced graduate students and higher education institutions in Mexico. The initiatives aim to generate scholarly careers and link university businesses for digital transformation. In addition, proposals for improvement were exchanged.

The meeting was attended by management teams from participating governments. Institutional actors involved in both programs and representatives of institutions that participated in the UNESCO Argentina Laboratory Experience during 2021. For Santa Fe, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Marina Pima; and Germinar Program Coordinator Michaela Misadra.

“Participation in activities with entities such as UNESCO is essential for the promotion of science and technology at the provincial level. I appreciate the invitation of Guillermo Anlo and Hernan Proud,” said Baima.

“At this meeting, progress was seen as the county served as an introduction to the Public Policy Lab’s Science and Technology beta testing, and today we were able to listen to experiences that have been done with other local governments. They help deepen the initiatives that we have been pioneering in Santa County.” V. Internationalizing and cooperating with our policies is fundamental to having a global science.”

For his part, Mezadra said, “It is necessary to highlight the pioneering initiative that represents the UNESCO Latin American Laboratory for Science, Technology and Innovation Policies. From the Government of Santa Fe, participation in it has allowed us to identify the dimensions of synergies in the analysis. And proposals for improvements. They are created among graduate students. and provincial governments in analyzing science, technology and innovation policy programmes.”

The regional official then added that “Sharing the experience in Argentina and being able to observe the experience of Mexico allows us to learn from the programs and improvement proposals of other countries in the region. They have similar realities and different ways of dealing with them that enrich our perspectives when designing and implementing our programs.”

The laboratory is a UNESCO initiative aimed at creating a regional space for the analysis of government programs and projects to advance science and technology. As a facilitator and supporter of sustainable development, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the 2030 Agenda, and articulate between the sectors of academia, vocational training and public administration.
