Gold futures for February delivery fell 0.26%, or $4.65, to $1,816.75 per troy ounce. Among other commodities, crude oil futures for February delivery rose 2.02%, or $1.66, to $83.78 a barrel, while Brent oil futures for March delivery rose 1.67%, 1.41, to $85.88 a barrel.
GBP/USD fell 0.32% to 1.3660, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8350.
The dollar index rose 0.45% to 95.200.
