When does the schedule change in the United States, Mexico, and other countries?
(CNN Spain) — About 70 countries change their schedules around these dates: winter, if they are in the Northern Hemisphere, or summer, if they are in the Southern Hemisphere. Many countries near the equator do not adjust their clocks at any time of the year.
If you are in a country with time changes in the Northern Hemisphere, you will need to turn your clock back one hour for these dates. Around March or April you will have to advance it by an hour.
If you are in the Southern Hemisphere (and if there is a time change in your country) it will be the opposite.
In general, these measures attempt to optimize energy use, although many countries are repealing them and each year there is debate among countries that still maintain them.

According to data compiled by CNN, daylight saving time in America was conceived by Benjamin Franklin in 1784 and has undergone many changes since then.
It was repealed in 1919, but it was still recognized in some areas of the country. In 1966, the Uniform Time Act established a uniform daylight saving time system in the US, from the last Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October, but states could omit their participation.
Between 1974 and 1975, Congress extended daylight saving time to save energy during the energy crisis. And between 1986 and 2006, it was scheduled to begin on the first Sunday in April and end on the last Sunday in October, according to the CNN compilation.
But since 2007, with the George W. Bush Energy Policy Act, daylight saving time in the United States begins on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November.
