Thirteen countries will receive deported Afghans, details of the United States
Thirteen countries, including four from Latin America, have so far agreed to receive at least temporary Afghans expelled from Afghanistan and more than a dozen nations agreed to serve as transit points for the evictionsUS Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this on Friday.
In a statement, Blinken noted that some potential Afghan refugees who are not yet authorized to resettle in the United States will be held in facilities in Albania, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Albania. Mexico, Poland, Qatar, Rwanda, Ukraine and Uganda.
Transit countries are Bahrain, Great Britain, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Qatar, Tajikistan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan.
“We are encouraged Other countries that are also considering providing aid. Our top priority is to meet our commitments to the safety of American citizens overseas and to citizens of allied nations and Afghans at risk.”
