BACOLOD City – A batch of P1,000 and P500 bills bearing the signature of President Rodrigo Duterte is now circulating in Negros Occidental.

Job Nepomuceno, deputy director of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) BSP-Bacolod Branch, said they already distributed the P500 bills to a number of banks in the province last Jan. 6, 2017 after receiving them in late December 2016.

He said they will soon distribute the P1,000 bills.

BACOLOD City – Board Member Salvador Escalante (2nd district) is the only lawmaker in Negros Occidental provincial government to attend all regular and special sessions from July to December  2016.

Records of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan released on Jan. 9, 2017 indicated that Escalante, committee on finance chair, attended all 24 sessions in said months.

BACOLOD City – City administrator John Orola said he will inspect “Lechonan Country” at Barangay Singcang here following the complaint of a resident that they were given spoiled lechon on Dec. 31, 2016.

In a press conference on Jan. 9, 2017 at the Bacolod Government Center, Orola said that aside from the spoiled lechon, they received complaints that a dead pig was dumped in the river recently.
