AN ALLEGED drug peddler was arrested in a buy bust operation in Pototan, Iloilo, Jan. 10, 2017.
Earth Vincent Mendoza, 31, was arrested at his house in Barangay Guinacas around 8:30 p.m. after he handed a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer.
Members of the Pototan Police Station and the Iloilo Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG) Focus Teams D, E, and F also seized from Mendoza three sachets of suspected shabu and five sachets of dried marijuana leaves.
Senior Inspector Bonifacio Alabe, Pototan police chief, said Mendoza is considered a high-value target (HVT) level 2. He's No. 7 in the target list of illegal drug personalities in Iloilo province.
Alabe said the suspect worked for Ernesto Bolivar, the leader of the Bolivar Drug Gang that operates in the 3rd district of Iloilo province.
Mendoza was with Bolivar when the latter slipped past an anti-illegal drugs operation on Nov. 9, 2016 at his house in Barangay Guinacas, Pototan, Iloilo.
Members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6, together with the the PNP Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (RAIDSOTG) Focus Team 6 and Pototan Police Station, conducted the operation against Bolivar.
His group allegedly distributes shabu from the two PDEA-identified drug groups based in Iloilo City – the Prevendido Drug Group and the Odicta Drug Group.
On July 12, Bolivar and his alleged cohort, Ricardo Trabuco alias Sixby, voluntarily turned themselves in to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) when the PNP implemented Oplan Tokhang campaign.
Aside from Pototan, Bolivar was believed to be residing in Barangay Tacas, Jaro, Iloilo City also.
