A MAN is now in police custody after hacking his wife in Tubungan, Iloilo early morning of Jan. 11, 2017.

Francisco Tumacag, 51, did not flee after he hacked his 45-year old wife Charie inside their house at Barangay Tagpuan.

The victim is recuperating from a forehead wound.

Senior Inspector Rolando Araño, Tubungan police chief, said the couple never-ending fight forced Francisco to attack the victim.

The drunken husband allegedly went home late Tuesday evening. Charie also slept late after waiting for the suspect.

At around 2:30 a.m., she woke up and saw Francisco who had just arrived.

The woman then prepared breakfast for their six children.

While doing the dishes, the woman reportedly began nagging about her husband's coming home late at night and drunk.

The couple then had a nasty fight which forced Francisco to draw his bolo and attack Charie.

Relatives immediately brought the woman to the hospital while Francisco stayed at their house until responding policemen arrived and arrested him.

Araño said the victim and her family have yet to decide whether or not to file charges against the suspect.
