BARELY two months after re-assuming the post, Chief Inspector Herbert Ballego was again relieved from the helm of Jaro Police Station in Iloilo City.

Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), confirmed Ballego's relief effective Jan. 9, 2017.

"It's about putting the right person at the right job," Gorero said as to the reason why Ballego was relieved.

The PRO-6 spokesman said Ballego “failed” to solve murder and robbery incidents following his designation as Jaro police chief on Nov. 15, 2016.

Several months before that, Ballego was also relieved from Jaro after serving the station since July 1, 2014.

Inspector Ronaldo Amihan, the commander of the Jaro police sub-station in Barangay Tabuc Suba, was designated to replace Ballego

In the meantime, Ballego is assigned at the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) headquarters while waiting for his new assignment.
