DECEMBER 16, 2016 is a date to remember for Ilonggos as the first water park in Iloilo city and province and Western Visayas opened at Eon Centennial Hotel in Alta Tierra Village, Jaro, Iloilo City.

Drawing inspiration from their travels abroad, the Tiu family led by couple Felix and Bernadette, ventured into the water park business so Ilonggos and those in Panay need not spend a lot and go to other places to experience a water park.

At a very affordable P350 fee, a guest can enjoy the facility all day, including the slides of various heights, lazy river, and swimming pool, among others. Cabanas and themed rooms and affordable party packages are also available.

Frances Tiu, general manager, shared that her parents’ love for their grandchildren and for Iloilo inspired them to invest in the multi-million peso project.

She said the water park will not only generate revenues for the city in terms of taxes; but it will also boost the city’s tourism industry.

More importantly, Waterworld Iloilo would mean food in the table of families of our employees, she stressed.  The youngest daughter of Felix and Bernadette is also proud that Waterworld Iloilo is an environment-friendly R&R facility, which is powered by 1,200 solar panels that generate 0.3 megawatt of energy.
