BACOLOD City – Col. Oscar Lactao, commander of the Army’s 303rd Brigade, told policemen and army to conduct joint checkpoints to make it difficult for the New People’s Army as well as criminal elements to perpetuate their illegal activities.
Lactao issued this order during the Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Center meeting-southern Negros sector amid another holdup incident in Cauayan town early this week.
Lactao, who chairs the JPSCC, stressed that this is the purpose of the JPSCC for the army and the police and other units to work together against criminality and insurgency in the area.
The JPSCC–southern sector meeting which was hosted b the Kabankalan City government was attended by all police chiefs in the towns and cities in southern Negros.
