BACOLOD City – Comelec chairman Sixto Brillantes along with some commissioners are set to arrive in the province on Saturday to make sure of the clean and honest conduct of the special elections in the fifth district of the province.
Atty. Jessie Suarez, Comelec provincial supervisor here, yesterday said Comelec chairman Sixto Brillantes would like to personally assess the conduct of the special elections on June 2.
The campaign period ends today.
Suarez said he has not received any formal complaint related to the conduct of the elections.
On election day on June 2, Suarez bared that all the official ballots will be released to various precincts at about 2am but in far flung areas, the official ballots will be released in the evening of June 1.
Suarez confirmed that the official proclamation of the winner may be held on June 3 as the Provincial Board of Canvassers will be convened at 6pm on June 2.
The teachers who will serve during the special election will receive P3,000 each, Suarez added.
