THE CATHOLIC faithful in Iloilo City will gather August 4 at the Iloilo Sports Complex for a prayer rally against the Reproductive Health (RH) bill.
“At the request of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) through our Commission on Family and Life, I approve the plan to express our opposition to the proposed RH Bill, which might be voted upon in the coming week by Congress,” said Jaro Archbishop Angel Lagdameo.
All parish priests in Iloilo City and their lay faithful are urged to join the continuous opposition of the Catholic Church of the legislative proposal that was called as “responsible parenthood” by President Benigno Simeon Aquino III during his 3rd State of the Nation Address (SONA) last July 23.
They will gather at the compound of St. Clement’s Church in La Paz district and will march to the nearby Iloilo Sports Complex.
They will tackle economic and health implications of the RH bill as well as the teaching of the Church on life and human dignity.
