But island could lose P41M a month

Despite issues of overcrowding and overdevelopment and the “Taiwan snub”, Boracay Island’s White Beach remains Asia’s best according to a travel website.
TripAdvisor ranked the White Beach as Asia’s number one beach resort in its 2013 Travelers' Choice Awards, beating other areas in India, Thailand, Cambodia, among others.
The rating is based on account insights from TripAdvisor’s millions of users.
Boracay improved its second place ranking in the 2012 Travelers' Choice Awards.
A TripAdvisor user described the White Beach area as “a stunningly beautiful white powder sand beach. Crystal clear, warm water that you can laze in for days on end.”

Harassments in Taiwan isolated?

HARASSMENT of Filipinos in Taiwan because of a diplomatic row appears isolated, based on accounts of an overseas worker.
Aristotle Bulaclac, a 28-year-old Ilonggo residing in the northern city of Hsinchu, said he has not experienced any form of harassment.
There have been mounting reports of harassments of Filipinos in Taiwan a Taiwanese fisherman was shot dead off the coast of Batanes by Philippine Coast Guard members May 9.
While Bulaclac confirmed that the dorm of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) was ransacked by a group of young Taiwanese in Hsinchu County, many Taiwanese have not turned to violence.

270 boarding houses don’t have permits

THE ILOILO CITY Boarding House Commission (BHC) warned parents and students to check the permits and certifications of their prospective boarding houses before the opening of classes.
Ben Palma, BHC officer-in-charge, said they 270 of the 544 boarding houses they inspected in the city have no mayor’s permits.
The violators have until end of this month to comply with the permit requirements. Should the owners fail to comply by May 31, a final warning will be issued against them.
The BHC will eventually shut down boarding houses that don’t comply with City Hall regulations aside from filing of cases.
