KALIBO, Aklan – Aklan’s list of establishments will be updated with the conduct of the National Statistics Office’s (NSO) 2012 Updating List of Establishments (ULE).
NSO-Aklan Provincial Statistics Officer Blas M. Solidum said the updating process started May 2 and would end June 16, 2012 to be conducted in the province’s 152 barangays comprising some 2,000 establishments.
“The list, when completed, will serve as sampling frame for the succeeding census and survey of establishments and enterprises, particularly the 2012 Census of Philippine Business and Industry,” Solidum said.
Rodelyn Panadero, NSO-Aklan Statistician II said the data obtained from the ULE will serve as basis in the formulation of policy and program of government, monitoring of trade and industry development, preparation of marketing plans and prospects, identifying outlets of products of establishments for research and studies.
To help in the list update, the NSO has hired eight statistical researchers and interviewers to complement the regular NSO personnel in the conduct of door-to-door listing and interviews.
At the same time, NSO-Aklan appealed to national and local government agencies, business communities and associations to give their support and cooperation in the conduct of the updates of establishments in their respective areas.
Solidum is also assuring establishment owners that all data and information given to the NSO through its field personnel, data collectors and interviewers will be treated as “strictly confidential” as provided for by law.
