JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ has taken his animosity toward Manny Pacquiao to a whole new level.

According to Boxing Scene, the Mexican counter punching specialist is coming out with a book titled, "Yes, I beat you Pacquiao."

The book, which will be presented this weekend at an international book fair, contains details of Marquez’s controversial trilogy with the Filipino boxer.

The Mexican boxer also talks about portions of his career and the qualities that made him one of the best fighters in the world.

"[This book is about] how I worked to achieve what I have achieved, with character, courage, and the desire that must be there to get what you want," said Marquez.

"The book which I wrote, and obviously I was helped a little with editing, was based on what I did and what I did to succeed. I speak of discipline, responsibility, and to do so in a book is very important because it's a great way for people to know a little bit more about me."

Marquez first fought Pacquiao to a draw in 2004. In that fight, he suffered three first-round knockdowns before rallying in the later rounds.

In 2008, Pacquiao edged him with a split decision and took away his World Boxing Federation (WBC) super featherweight title.

Their third fight, which took place last November, saw the Filipino boxer winning by a controversial unanimous decision.

Marquez claimed he won in all their three bouts.

The Mexican toughie is now hoping he could get a fourth bout against Pacquiao on November 10. (ABS-CBNnews.com)

The little girl said: “No, Dad. You hold my hand.”  The puzzled father asked, “What’s the difference?” Read more...

THAT’S obvious, but since we always take it for granted and often forget our duties and responsibilities toward it, we need to be reminded, if only to achieve more appreciation, both theoretical and practical, for it.

Truthfulness is relational since it always involves the proper engagement between us and the others, be they persons, things, Read more...

LAST Saturday I looked at the exhibit on the life of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta at the west portico of the San Sebastian Cathedral. The Sisters of Charity, founded by Mother Teresa shared with us her life and her thoughts on her mission for the poor, the very poor of India and from there the poor of the world.

It was a moving exhibit, with photographs of her journey from being a young girl in Kosovo to the world’s stage and into holiness. Read more...

I REMEMBER the complaint of a widowed senior citizen, or older adult as known in other countries, some time last year.

She had just arrived from the United States when we met. She told me that she had been living for quite some time in a home for the aged in that country of Uncle Sam, which she deeply disliked. Read more...
