THE Los Angeles Clippers bolstered their guard rotation by acquiring Willie Green from the Atlanta Hawks, sending out the draft rights to Greek center Sofocles Schortsanitis, the Clippers announced in a press release.
Per team policy, the specific terms of the trade were not announced.
The 31-year-old Green is a nine-year veteran who averaged 7.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.8 assists with Atlanta in 53 games last season. He also shot 44.2 percent from beyond the arc, 47.1 percent from the field.
Schortsanitis on the other hand, was a second-round pick during the 2003 NBA Draft, who was never brought over by the Clippers, playing most recently with Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.
Adding shooting has been an area of focus for the Clippers. Prior to this move, they signed Jamal Crawford, and kept Chauncey Billups, after sending out Mo Williams. (GMA News)
