WORLD flyweight champion Brian "The Hawaiian Punch" Viloria warned Filipino boxing icon Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao to be careful of challenger Timothy Bradley Jr. when they fight on June 9 in Las Vegas.

Viloria told Joaquin Henson of The Philippine Star that while he expects Pacquiao to win, Bradley will give the Pacman a greater challenge than expected.

"Manny's too fast, too much for Bradley. From what I know, Manny's training is on the right track," Viloria told Henson.

"But I heard Bradley's in great shape, too. And he's hungry. He's eager to gain recognition," Viloria said of the undefeated American.

Viloria believes that Bradley – who will come in as an underdog against Pacquiao – is a dangerous opponent who "has nothing to lose and everything to gain."

"That's why Manny has got to be careful. Bradley can box, and he can brawl. Manny must be prepared for whatever Bradley brings to the table," he said.

Moreover, Viloria believes that Pacquiao not only needs to win – he needs to so in impressive fashion.

"Manny needs a decisve and spectacular win to put him back at the No. 1 pound-for-pound spot after his not-so-convincing win against (Juan Manuel) Marquez," Viloria told Henson.

Pacquiao is currently No. 2 in most pound-for-pound lists behind rival Floyd Mayweather Jr., though the RING Magazine has the two boxers tied at the No. 2 spot.

Pacquiao will defend his World Boxing Organization welterweight championship against Bradley, who is rated No. 8 on The RING’s pound-for-pound list. (ABS-CBNnews.com)

"BETWEEN stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." Viktor E. Frankl

The name Pavlov may make us want to cry "Dogs!" We would call this a Pavlovian response, but that would be oversimplifying the point made by the phrase's namesake, the Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov (1849-1936), stressed Dr. Michael Macrone, author of Eureka! Read more...

“THERE is a lot that happens around the world we cannot control,” American Congressman Jan Schakowsky once said. “We cannot stop earthquakes, we cannot prevent droughts, and we cannot prevent all conflict, but when we know where the hungry, the homeless and the sick exist, then we can help.”

This statement came to mind while reading the report that there more Filipinos who are hungry than ever. Read more...
