ADVENTUROUS INDULGENCE AT ROXAS CITY

THE discouraging state of our environment and the constant search for meaningful travel and leisure with social relevance are the key factors in one’s destination bucket list that even the snobbish world of luxury has put on conscience.

In Roxas City, Capiz it was a great welcome for us to discover this newest and the only adventure park to rise in this side of the world, The Talon Adventure Park.

Talon, a Capiznon word for forest, is comfortably nestled just few kilometers from the buzzing city life, it promises to be self contained, environmentally sound with its sprawling forests, centuries-old cliffs and pockets of fine gray sand on its beach!

This vacation haven owned and managed by the Viterbo Family is set uphill against the magnificent backdrop of lush thickly laced greeneries, overlooking the sky-lined landscape.

Talon Adventure Park boasts of an orchid farm, its nature park which is an ideal campsite, a mini zoo, a beach house along the adjacent Ayagao beach and, of course, the zip line and ATV mountain bike.

“Well, what makes Talon Adventure Park special more than the usual adventure and luxury destination? It is after all a shining example of how to build both an inland and beach resort in one location without compromising the health and beauty of the environment, as the strictest environmental standards are observed, the top priority to preserve this paradise,” shared managing owner Bordoy Viterbo.

In just a few months of its operations, and while still constructing the other luxurious amenities, Talon Adventure Park has already attracted a lot of foreign and local clienteles, especially those sensitive, discriminating and lead a healthy, holistic and most importantly, environment-friendly lifestyle.

Talon Adventure Park is located at Barangay Talon, Roxas City, Philippines. You may call telephone number (036)8431915 for reservations.

"BETWEEN stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." Viktor E. Frankl

The name Pavlov may make us want to cry "Dogs!" We would call this a Pavlovian response, but that would be oversimplifying the point made by the phrase's namesake, the Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov (1849-1936), stressed Dr. Michael Macrone, author of Eureka! Read more...

TRAIN EVERY child to be self-reliant. As much as possible, every child should be trained to self-reliance. By calling into exercise the various faculties, he will learn where he is strongest, and in what way he is deficient.

“THERE is a lot that happens around the world we cannot control,” American Congressman Jan Schakowsky once said. “We cannot stop earthquakes, we cannot prevent droughts, and we cannot prevent all conflict, but when we know where the hungry, the homeless and the sick exist, then we can help.”

This statement came to mind while reading the report that there more Filipinos who are hungry than ever. Read more...

By: Dr. Noeleen Heyzer

WITHOUT WATER there is no life. Clean drinking water and sanitation are basic human rights – essential to life and to all other rights. Lack of access to clean water and sanitation is a silent crisis that destroys livelihoods and claims more lives through illness than any war claims through guns. Read more...
