THE WORLD FAMOUS PLATTERS is licensed to perform all the classic hits of the group by Jean Bennett of Personality Productions. The group is composed of five multi-talented artists: Eddie Stovall, Sr., Eddie Stovall, Jr., Yolanda Fletcher, Lawrence “Rooster” Lockard and Jerome Dabney. Although none of the members of the World Famous Platters have performed with the original Platters as a group, its leader and lead singer, Eddie, actually toured and performed with the original Platters lead singer and front man Tony Williams when he went solo performing the Platters classics.
Their show has been a regular feature in Branson, Missouri for years and they were the recipient of the 1999 Vocal Group of the Year in Branson Award.
This concert is a fund-raising project of CPU and CPUAAI to finance the following projects:
• God’s Grace Program – providing free meals and lodging for poor but deserving work students;
• Scholarships – one time grant – providing financial assistance to poor but deserving public high schools students;
• Medical and Legal Missions
• The annual “Festival of Lights” and Music at Central.
