SAN JOSE, Antique – Application forms for educational assistance is now available at the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Antique branch. Likewise, it can also be secured from the internet through the GSIS website.
Leo Frigillano, manager of GSIS Antique, said they started accepting application forms since May 7 and they will continue until December 28, 2012.
This will give members the choice on when they will avail of such assistance, he added.
Recently, the GSIS launched its educational assistance program following the announcement of President Benigno S. Aquino III on Labor Day that the fund is available in the amount of Ph11.2 billion.
Frigillano said the educational assistance program is open to all active members of the pension fund, regardless of salary grade. They are entitled to Php 4,000, payable in five years at six percent interest rate.
GSIS disclosed that the monthly payment is only Php20 through salary deduction, and the first payment of the loan will start three months after the grant.
Applications forms should be submitted per agency or by batch to facilitate easy processing with transmittal from the office concerned.
“The way the processing is going on, considering the bulk of the application forms, where Antique has more than 1,000 applicants (in about 4 days of accepting the application), it will take us about five days of processing and three to five days before it can be credited to the ATM/ e-card account of the member applicant.”
